Dewch i gael eich ysbrydoli yn y cwmwd hardd hwn.  Ardal sy’n gwrlid gwyrdd o gwmpasLlyn Tegid, y perl yn y canol.

Cwyd mynyddoedd yr Aran, y Berwyn a’r Arenig yn furiau cadarn o’i gwmpas a llifa nentydd ac afonydd byrlymus iddo.  Yma mae natur yn dal ar ei orau a llafur cenedlaethau o ffermwyr a ffurfiodd y tirlun hardd.

Ar lan Llyn Tegid cewch ymlacio’n llwyr yn dawel ar lan y dwr neu fentro i gyffro y dwr ei hun.  Mwynhewch gyfrinachau natur ar droed neu gadewch i’r Trên Bach wneud y gwaith wrth ymlwybro’n hamddenol hyd lan y Llyn.

Dewch yma i gael blas ar un o ardaloedd Cymreiciaf Cymru, ardal lle mae’r iaith yn dal yn iaith y stryd a’r diwylliant Cymreig yn dal mewn bri.  Mae’r Stryd Fawr ei hun yn dyst i hanes hir yr ardal o gyfnod y Rhufeiniaid ac mae’r cofgolofnau yn y dref yn tystio i orffennol nodedig, yn grefyddol a gwleidyddol.

Be inspired by this beautiful haven at the gateway to Snowdonia with Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales, as its centrepiece.

Located in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park surrounded by the high peaks of Aran Benllyn, Arenig Fawr and the spectacular Berwyn mountains, this area encompasses the wealth of nature shaped by generations of families dedicated to the land.

Relax on the shores of the lake or enjoy challenging the waters yourself – the choice is yours.  You may choose to search out hidden treasures on foot or enjoy them at your leisure on the narrow-gauge steam train journey along the shores of the lake.

Penllyn is noted, not only for its natural beauty, but also for its culture.  The Welsh language, one of the oldest languages in Europe still thrives here, the language of family, friends and business as a walk along the streets of Bala will prove.  The heritage of the town is a long and rich one stretching from Roman times and the statues to be seen around the town reveal its importance as a hub for religious and political activity.

The Bala Challenge - will be held on Saturday 10 May 2008. There will be 3 distances, i.e. 8 miles, 14 miles and 20 miles.

This year the major beneficiary will be the “2009 Eisteddfod (Meirion)”.

The route from Bala to Llanuwchllyn is modified - it’s a higher route with better views, on the way back to Bala we avoid Stadros summit. For the 20 mile option the route goes up the Aran ridge to Moel Ffenigl (600m) then back to Llanuwchllyn.

Full details of the event, including downloadable entry & sponsorship forms, can be found at: http://www.abercelyn.co.uk/bc.htm

Available in Welsh and English language versions.
